Calidality Ministries International runs a Women’s Ministry focused on restoring dignity, hope, and self-reliance among vulnerable women in our communities. Due to the HIV/AIDS scourge and prolonged periods of conflict that set the country back, many women were left without access to education and basic skills. Despite these challenges, these women continue to serve as mothers, caregivers, and leaders in both their families and communities.
Recognising their resilience and potential, the ministry established the Suubi Project (Suubi means Hope) to equip women with practical, income-generating skills. The project works with women from both church and community settings, with special attention given to those infected or affected by HIV/AIDS who struggle to sustain themselves and their families.
Through the Suubi Project, women receive hands-on training in tailoring, crafts-making, and bookmaking. In the first training phase, 51 women successfully graduated with marketable skills. Many of these women have since started small businesses and become self-employed, enabling them to provide consistent financial support for their households.
In addition, the program supports women by training them to sew school uniforms and sell educational materials, creating sustainable links between the ministry’s education programs and women’s economic empowerment. This skills-training initiative has brought encouragement, confidence, and renewed purpose to many women who had previously lost hope.
Calidality Ministries International remains committed to strengthening and expanding the Suubi Project by facilitating continuous skills training for women in the community. Our target is to train at least 50 women every year, helping them develop the confidence, skills, and financial resources needed to support their families and live with dignity.
